Yes/No Films on the Road: The Fault in Our Stars Nashville event #tfiosTN

This Thursday was a case of "right place, right time." I was in Nashville for Yelp Elite spring break (check back next week for a post about that), and the author and cast of The Fault in our Stars was also doing an event in downtown Nashville.

I found out about the event when Alisha (coilylocks.com), a blogger friend who lives in Nashville, offhandedly mentioned it to me. I Googled it and was SO bummed to find that the (free) tickets were all sold out; however, I later was able to get media tickets for Alisha and I, and was very excited!

John Green (author of TFIOS)

Shailene Woodley

We were ushered into the "media pen" and able to take pictures of John Green (the author, above, who is also one of my favorite YA authors), and the main cast, including Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort (Divergent), as well as Nat Wolff (Admission).

Ansel Elgort

Slightly before the red carpet, Nat Wolff also performed with his band inside (to the delight of all the teens in attendance!), and then joined his fellow castmates on the carpet.

Nat Wolff, Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, John Green Q&A

After the red carpet, we headed inside, and the cast and were able to view ten minutes of footage from the movie (and, unsurprisingly, it looks great!). There was then a Q&A about the book and movie with John Green and the cast, and Ansel Elgort showed off some interesting dance moves, as well.

This was my first "red carpet" event and it was a fantastic night! The Fault in our Stars is in theaters on June 6th, and I highly recommend reading the book - and everything else by John Green - in the meantime.

  1. This is one of the times where having a blog, and being considered media, is a very good thing. Looks like you get pretty upclose in the media pen.

  2. It's so cool that you got to go.

I think Shailene's jacket is Zuhair Murad. I like it.

    1. I think it is also, I remember reading that name. I like her jacket as well. I think the pants are leather but kind of looked pleather-ish.

      And yes, it was fun!

  6. I think I will want to read the book first- I've never heard of it, but it seems to me that the literature might be even more impactful than the film.

    1. I really, really hope the movie is as good as the book was, because the book was very, very good. From the footage we saw here, it looks like it might be. :)
