In my massive BlogHer '13 recap from a few days ago, one of the (unofficial) activities I mentioned doing was the Seadog fireworks cruise, courtesy of Madame Deals and her team. I was super excited to be included in this as Navy Pier always does a great fireworks show - I was in Chicago last year for a wedding and was able to catch it then, as well - and I was curious to see how the view would be different from a boat versus sitting on the pier.
The answer is: fantastic!

Once on board, our cheery Seadog host for the night introduced himself, and started giving us some Chicago history. We zoomed (well, slowly zoomed) away from the Pier and I got to chat with some of the other bloggers on the boat, as well. Amee talked a bit about Madame Deals and their "payit4ward" campaign, which I was familiar with since I had been afforded (another) boat ride from Madame last year in NYC.
The fireworks soon started, and everyone was oohing and aahing over them - the view truly was spectacular. I took an Instagram video you can check out, as well as a ton of pictures (see below).
After the fireworks were over, our guide told us more about Chicago's history and buildings, and even though I knew a little bit about the city, the facts I learned were very interesting.
Thanks to Madame Deals and Seadog Cruises for making the first night of my Chicago trip an awesome one!
